Bassam Hamid Walweel
Bassam Hamid Walweel is currently the Chairman of Raya Company, a MENA powerhouse that provides system integration solutions in telecommunications, IT, and industrial automation. Bassam began his professional career as an instructor at Al-Najah National University where he taught from 1989 to 1993. Following this, he became the Director General of the Agricultural Cooperative Union for two years from 1993 to 1995. His next position was also as a Director General, but this time for the Palestinian Energy and Environmental Research Center from1995-2000. Bassam then became the General Manager of the Palestine Poultry Company & Palestinian Development and Investment Ltd. (PADICO) from 2000 to 2004, and for the next year—2004 to 2005—he was the General Manager of the Commercial Department of the Palestinian Investment Fund. Bassam then moved up to Vice President of the PALTEL Group for Public Relations and Investment, a position he retained for three years from 2005 to 2008. He has been the Chairman of the Board for Raya Company for Media and Publishing from 2007 until the present, while also being the Chairman of the Board for INJAZ Palestine Society from 2007 to 2011. He was the General Manager of Golden Wheat Mills from 2008 to 2015, at which point he became a Board Member of the same company—a position he still retains. He was also a member on the Board of Directors as Al-Rafah Microfinance Bank from 2006-2008 as well as a member on the Board of Directors for the Palestinian Business Association from 2011 to 2015. Currently, he holds positions as a Board Member of Vegetable Oil Industries Company and is also a member of the Board of Directors at the Palestinian Food Industries Union and the General Federation of Palestinian Industries.
Rania Kutteneh is currently the CEO of INJAZ Palestine, prior to joining INJAZ, Ms Kutteneh worked as the Civil Society Facilitator and Capacity Building Advisor at the International Humanitarian Law & Human Rights Secretariat, in occupied Palestine. Ms Kutteneh supported Civil Society Organisations capacity development, monitoring of progress, and support the development of Networks and partnerships around international Humanitarian Law & Human Rights. Prior to joining the Secretariat, Ms Kutteneh occupied the post Key Expert-Deputy Team Leader for the “Civil Society Regional Programme” for the European Commission in Brussels, focusing on strengthening the institutional capacity of civil society in Southern Mediterranean Countries. Before moving to Brussels, Ms Kutteneh served as the Program director of the Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO) and managed PNGO's "National Campaign for the Defence of Civil Liberties and Human Rights and the Restoration of National Unity in Palestine," As a result of this collective effort, Ms. Kutteneh received the French Republic Human Rights Award in 2009. Ms Kutteneh worked in several international organisations where she supervised numerous development projects. Ms. Kutteneh has obtained her BA in English Literature and Journalism from Bethlehem University, as well as the International Master in European Studies – Policy Advisor and Project Consultant from Belgium.
