INJAZ Al-Arab (INJAZ) is a non-profit organization that promotes youth education and training in the Arab World under three pillars: workforce readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship. INJAZ started its work in the region in 1999 and in 2004 became the Regional Operating Center of Junior Achievement Worldwide (JAW). Today, INJAZ works in Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Pakistan. Over 2 million students have participated in a broad base of entrepreneurship training opportunities aimed at developing basic business skills to start and run their own businesses while obtaining soft skills increasingly demanded by the private sector and eventually fostering success in future careers. Across the region, INJAZ works with 14 ministries of education, over 3,000 schools, 418 universities and a network of 7,000 corporate volunteers who implement a series of business and entrepreneurship programs that impacted nearly 340,000 youth during 2013-2014.

Akef AqrabawiPresident and CEO , JA MENA, INJAZ Al-Arab
As Middle East & North Africa CEO for Junior Achievement Worldwide, INJAZ Al-Arab, Akef brings over 17 years of experience in educational leadership and management with a solid track record in strategy, business development, and operations.
A policy advocate with expertise in corporate-government relations, networking and board stewardship, Akef was among the originators of the first JA MENA branch in Jordan, managing public relations, volunteer recruitment and fundraising.
His extensive involvement establishing INJAZ Jordan as a regional role model enabled him to successfully implement an operational strategy to roll out JA across 14 countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
During his remit at INJAZ Al-Arab as Deputy Regional Director and Chief Operating Officer, Akef provided strategic operations and fundraising support to INJAZ country offices, which contributed today to empowering over 2 million Arab youth supported by over 22 thousand volunteers and 200 board members.
Prior to joining JA, Akef held planning and research positions at Jordan’s Ministry of Water and Irrigation, and Swiss healthcare intelligence conglomerate IMS Health. Akef holds a BA in Archaeology from Mu’tah University, Jordan.
Christian NeumeisterRegional Business Development Officer
Christian joined the INJAZ Al-Arab team in July 2015. As a Regional Business Development Officer, his responsibilities include managing relationships with stakeholders and coordinating regional grants among INJAZ’s 14 member nations. Originally from Chicago, Christian holds a dual degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Philosophy, Politics & Economics from Claremont McKenna College, from which he graduated with Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors. His other interests include music and international politics.
Dalia Al-AshhabOperations and Education Officer
Dalia is an education professional with over three years of experience in instruction and literary research. Dalia’s expertise and skills enabled her to work as a special tutor for blind students at the University of Jordan, and an English Language & Literature teacher.
As Executive Assistant to INJAZ Al-Arab’s President and CEO, Dalia offers administration and communication support, leveraging board stewardship and networking across 14 Member Nations in MENA.
Dalia holds a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Jordan. She undertook a creative writing course at Aston University, Birmingham.
Dima MasriPR & Communications Manager
Dima began working with INJAZ Al-Arab as the Communications and PR Manager in October 2014. Prior to joining INJAZ, Dima gained extensive experience working in the non-profit sector as Head of the Communication and Outreach/Events Department at the International Organization Foundation for the Future (April 2009-September 2014), and also as an Administrative and Financial Supervisor at a UNDP-Funded Regional Project on Rule of Law (Aug 2005-March 2009). Furthermore, Dima headed a voluntary position in the Middle East Affairs Outreach program which is part of the International Women’s Forum, Headquartered in Washington DC (January 2007-December 2011). Dima holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature from Al Ahliya Private University in Jordan and a certificate in Marketing from the University of the Arts in London.
Nickolas NeibauerBusiness Development Manager
Nickolas Neibauer serves as the regional Business Development Manager for INJAZ Al-Arab where he works in fundraising and grant stewardship across MENA. A lover of all things coffee, he is one of the founders of Caffè Strada. In 2009, he moved to Amman, Jordan from Seattle, to start a job at EcoHotels, where he worked between Amman and Feynan Ecolodge. He holds a Master’s in Economics from L’Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland and a Bachelor’s from Franklin College Switzerland in Business and Italian.
Nicola DihmesRegional Operations Manager
Nicola serves as the Regional Operations Manager for INJAZ Al-Arab. He has over 10 years of experience in the management consulting field. He has worked on over 30 consulting projects in the public & private sectors within the GCC & MENA regions. He conducted projects in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Kuwait, Egypt and Sweden. His areas of expertise includes organizational development, human resources management, process improvement & business process management. He is also knowledgeable in strategy and quality management. Nicola has previously worked with MMIS Management Consultants, Optimiza, Philadelphia Consulting and PROCAPITA Consulting.
Nicola holds a Bachelor¹s degree in Industrial Engineering from The Hashemite University ¬ Jordan, and a Master¹s Degree in Quality & Operations Management from Chalmers University of Technology ¬ Sweden.
Rawan NaberFinance & Administrative Manager
Rawan joined the team in 2008 and is responsible for overseeing INJAZ Al-Arab finances and provides Human Resources and Office Management support Rawan has 14 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, HR and Administration in Not-for-profit/NGO organization and Profit companies. Prior to joining the organization Rawan worked with Dar Al Handaseh Shair and Partners Company, DeLaval Company and UNICEF. Rawan has a BA in Accounting from the University of Jordan.
Shahad HaswaMarketing & Branding Officer
Shahad wants to live in a world surrounded by entrepreneurial mindsets, books that come bundled with extra dark chocolate and a force field that attracts innovation, creativity and positivity. As a recent Elon University graduate with a BSBA in Entrepreneurship & Marketing, Shahad found her perfect fit as a Branding and Marketing Officer at INJAZ Al-Arab. During her time at Elon, Shahad was the president of the Elon International Society, the Muslim Student Association and worked as a Diversity Ambassador tour guide under Elon’s Office of Admissions. While pursuing her studies in the South, Shahad managed to discover the Dixie strip, attend the Washington Center Inaugural Seminar and live on the line of the Arizona-Mexico borders. Pre acquiring her degree, Shahad landed an internship opportunity with INJAZ Al-Arab, which instantly ignited her passion towards INJAZ Al-Arab’s vision and made her once more, seek opportunities of growth and empowerment with INJAZ post graduation.
Tamer ZumotGrants & Projects Manager
Tamer Zumot currently works in the capacity of Projects & Grants Management at INJAZ Al-Arab Organization. Prior to that he was heading the Training department at Jordan Education for Employment in addition to being the Head of Post Revolution Program at Foundation for the Future since February 2012
Tamer’s experience is focused in the field of community development with diverse expertise in youth training and empowerment, NGO capacity building, and stream lining the use of social media channels in the dissemination of activities’ related news and achievements and in specific civil society’ social media movement in post-revolutionary areas.
Prior to that he added to his managerial skills through his USAID funded projects’ involvement; working in Operations in two projects; The International Youth Foundation, and The International Relief and Development.
Tamer enjoys a vast experience in formulating, moderating and facilitating round-table discussions in fields related to community development, political participation, women and youth empowerment, rule of law and governance. His most recent experience revolves directly on post revolution countries, with special focus on the Libyan context, and its democratic transitional process.
Tamer has a Bachelor Degree in International Business Administration from Hashemite University, Faculty of Economics- Jordan and holds several training degrees in HR, Life Skills, Communications & Branding, Youth Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Change Management, Etiquette and Protocol, and Effective Time Management.
Tina BurtamekhFinance and Administrative Officer
Tine graduated from the University of Jordan and carries a BA in Accounting, She worked with Price Waterhouse Coopers Company and joined the graduate program where she worked as an external auditor in core assurance line of service and used to work on understanding the work process of different industries and manage the work process and audit according to my involvement in understanding the entity. Today, Tine is the new finance administrative and HR officer in INJAZ AL-ARAB where she is responsible for the overseeing INJAZ AL-ARAB finances. During her school studies Tina was a member in the Circassian dancing folklore where she performed in privet and public occasions inside and outside Jordan and joined and been interested in participating in volunteering activities, and now I’m seeking of getting the CMA in the up-coming year.
